Decide early in the day
The longer you wait, the easier it is to let the day pass as well. Look at the habit in the morning and decide which version you will do today.
If you know the day is full, say so to yourself and pick the small version now.
Do the smallest version that still counts
One page, two minutes, one glass of water. A small version done today keeps the habit going better than a full version planned for later.
Doing the minimum the day after a miss counts as coming back.
If today doesn't fit, move it or pause it
Sometimes the habit is in the wrong place in the day. Move it to a time that fits today. If the whole week is out of reach, pause the habit on purpose and pick the day you'll restart.
A deliberate pause is easier to come back from than a habit you quietly stopped thinking about.
Leave yesterday where it is
Don't add yesterday's session to today. Don't rewrite the record. One missed day does not undo the days you showed up before it.
How LilCoach handles this day
LilCoach is built for this exact day. The morning after a miss, Today shows one card for that habit with three choices: do the minimum, move it, or pause. One gentle reminder may arrive that morning, and then the app stays quiet.
If the whole day is hard, “A hard day” in the Coach tab turns every habit on today into its minimum after you confirm.
